Sahih al-Bukhari 5762 (Book 76, Hadith 76) #5527
Beware of Foretellers

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger ﷺ warned against believing in foretellers, as they are nothing but liars who mix truth with lies.

Narrated 'Aisha: Some people asked Allah's Messenger about the fore-tellers He said'. They are nothing" They said, 'O Allah's Messenger ! Sometimes they tell us of a thing which turns out to be true". Allah's Messenger said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it Into the ear of his friend (the fore-teller) (as one puts something into a bottle) The foreteller then mixes with that word one hundred lies".

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, Allah's Messenger is warning people against believing in foretellers. He explains that these people are nothing and that the words they tell us may be true but it is only because a jinn has whispered it into their ear and mixed it with one hundred lies. This hadith teaches us to be wary of those who claim to have knowledge about the future or any other matters, as we cannot trust them completely. We should instead rely on Allah for guidance and seek knowledge from reliable sources such as scholars and teachers.
