Sahih al-Bukhari 5669 (Book 75, Hadith 29) #5443
Disagreement Prevents Guidance

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a disagreement between people in the house of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he was on his deathbed. He wanted to write something for them so that they would not go astray, but they disagreed and caused a hue and cry, preventing him from doing so.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: When Allah's Messenger was on his death-bed and in the house there were some people among whom was 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, the Prophet said, "Come, let me write for you a statement after which you will not go astray"'.Umar said, "The Prophet is seriously ill and you have the Qur'an; so the Book of Allah is enough for us". The people present in the house differed and quarrelled. Some said "Go near so that the Prophet may write for you a statement after which you will not go astray," while the others said as 'Umar said. When they caused a hue and cry before the Prophet, Allah's Messenger said, "Go away!" Narrated 'Ubaidullah: Ibn 'Abbas used to say, "It was very unfortunate that Allah's Messenger was prevented from writing that statement for them because of their disagreement and noise".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for unity in our communities . Respectfully express your own opinions . Avoid disagreements as much as possible . Receive guidance from Allah’s Messenger .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of unity and agreement among people. It tells us that when there is disagreement or quarreling among people, it can prevent them from receiving guidance or help from Allah's Messenger (PBUH). In this case, the Prophet wanted to write something for them so that they would not go astray, but due to their disagreement and noise he was prevented from doing so. This teaches us that we should strive for unity in our communities and avoid disagreements as much as possible if we want to receive guidance from Allah's Messenger. We should also remember that even if we disagree with someone else's opinion or point of view, it does not mean we have to argue with them or cause a disturbance; instead, we should try our best to remain respectful towards each other while still expressing our own opinions.
