Sahih al-Bukhari 541 (Book 9, Hadith 18) #521
Prayer Times and Recitation of Quran

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to offer prayers at specific times and recite a certain number of verses from the Quran.

Narrated Abu Al-Minhal: Abu Barza said, "The Prophet used to offer the Fajr (prayer) when one could recognize the person sitting by him (after the prayer) and he used to recite between 60 to 100 Ayat (verses) of the Qur'an. He used to offer the Zuhr prayer as soon as the sun declined (at noon) and the 'Asr at a time when a man might go and return from the farthest place in Medina and find the sun still hot. (The sub-narrator forgot what was said about the Maghrib). He did not mind delaying the 'Isha prayer to one third of the night or the middle of the night".

QUICK LESSONS:
Offer prayers on time & recite some verses from Qur'an during them
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of prayer in Islam. It is narrated by Abu Al-Minhal and Abu Barza that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to offer Fajr prayer when one could recognize the person sitting next to him after the prayer. He would also recite between 60 to 100 verses from the Qur'an during this time. For Zuhr prayer he would pray as soon as the sun declined at noon while for 'Asr he would wait until a man could go and return from a far place in Medina while still finding it hot outside. Lastly for 'Isha he did not mind delaying it until one third or middle of night. This hadith teaches us that we should be punctual with our prayers and also recite some verses from Qur'an during them as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did himself.
