Sahih al-Bukhari 5190 (Book 67, Hadith 124) #4970
Watching Amusement at a Young Age

SUMMARY: Aisha was a young girl when she watched the Ethiopians playing with their small spears, and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) screened her from the display.

Narrated 'Urwa: Aisha said, "While the Ethiopians were playing with their small spears, Allah's Messenger screened me behind him and I watched (that display) and kept on watching till I left on my own". So you may estimate of what age a little girl may listen to amusement.

QUICK LESSONS:
Allow children to explore and learn new things in life while protecting them from potential harm or danger.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Aisha, who was a young girl when she watched the Ethiopians playing with their small spears. Allah's Messenger screened her from the display so that she could watch it without any harm. This hadith teaches us that even at a young age, children can be exposed to amusement and entertainment in moderation. It also shows us how important it is for parents to protect their children from any potential harm or danger while allowing them to explore and learn new things in life. The Prophet Muhammad's example of shielding Aisha serves as an example of how we should take care of our own children today.
