QUICK LESSONS:
Celebrate your weddings appropriately and generously without being stingy or miserly .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of celebrating weddings. It was narrated by Anas bin Malik that 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf came to Allah's Messenger and he had marks of Sufra, which was yellow perfume. When asked about it, 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Auf told him that he had married a woman from the Ansar and paid her gold equal to the weight of a date stone as mahr. Upon hearing this, Allah's Messenger advised him to give a wedding banquet even if with one sheep. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to celebrate their weddings in an appropriate manner and not just limit themselves to paying mahr alone. It also teaches us that we should be generous when celebrating our weddings and not be too stingy or miserly in our celebrations.
