Sahih al-Bukhari 5054 (Book 66, Hadith 79) #4838
Reciting the Quran in Seven Days

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised Abdullah bin Amr to recite the entire Quran in one month, but Abdullah said he could do it faster. The Prophet then told him to complete the recitation in seven days and not less.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: Allah's Messenger said to me, "Recite the whole Qur'an in one month's time". I said, "But I have power (to do more than that)". Allah's Messenger said, "Then finish the recitation of the Qur'an in seven days, and do not finish it in less than this period".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of reciting the Quran. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Amr that Allah's Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ, asked him to recite the whole Qur'an in one month's time. However, Abdullah said he had power to do it faster than that and so Allah's Messenger ﷺ told him to finish it within seven days and not less than that. This hadith teaches us how important it is for Muslims to read and understand the words of Allah as revealed through His last messenger Muhammad ﷺ. It also shows us how we should strive for excellence when doing good deeds like reading or memorizing verses from the Holy Book of Islam - The Qur'an - as this will bring us closer to our Creator and help us become better Muslims who are obedient towards Him.
