Reciting the Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked 'Abdullah bin 'Amr how long it took him to recite the entire Qur'an.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: The Prophet asked me, "How long does it take you to finish the recitation of the whole Qur'an?"
حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ ‏ "‏ فِي كَمْ تَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked Abdullah bin Amr how long it took him to recite the entire Quran. This hadith highlights the importance of reciting and understanding the Quran in its entirety. It is a reminder for us to take our time when reading and reflecting on each verse of Allah's words so that we can gain maximum benefit from them. Additionally, this hadith also encourages us to strive towards memorizing and understanding all of Allah's words as much as possible. We should make an effort to read and understand at least one Juz or chapter of the Quran every day so that we can become more familiar with its teachings and apply them in our lives.
