Appreciation for Reciting the Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was pleased with a reciter of the Qur'an who reminded him of verses he had missed.

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet heard a reciter reciting, the Qur'an in the mosque at night. The Prophet said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on him, as he has remind ed me of such-and-such Verses of such and-such surahs, which I missed!"
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ قَارِئًا يَقْرَأُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ يَرْحَمُهُ اللَّهُ لَقَدْ أَذْكَرَنِي كَذَا وَكَذَا آيَةً، أَسْقَطْتُهَا مِنْ سُورَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا

This hadith is about the appreciation that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ showed to a reciter of the Quran. He heard someone reciting in the mosque at night and praised them for reminding him of certain verses and surahs that he had missed. This shows us how important it is to recite and learn from the Quran as it can even bring joy to our beloved Prophet ﷺ. It also teaches us to appreciate those who are devoted to learning and teaching from this holy book. We should strive to be like these people so we can gain Allah's mercy and blessings in our lives.
