The Last Two Verses of Surat Al-Baqara

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that reciting the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night is sufficient for a person.

Narrated Abu Mas'ud: The Prophet said, "If somebody recited the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night, that will be sufficient for him".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ "‏ مَنْ قَرَأَ بِالآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ‏"‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that reciting the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night is sufficient for a person. This hadith encourages us to recite the Qur’an and to make it part of our daily routine. It also teaches us that even if we are unable to read much of the Qur’an, we can still benefit from reading just two verses each day. This hadith also reminds us how important it is to take time out each day to reflect on Allah's words and teachings in order to gain spiritual nourishment and guidance.
