QUICK LESSONS:
Worship Allah alone

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Ibn 'Abbas and it tells the story of a man named Lat who used to mix Sawiq for the pilgrims. Sawiq is a type of food that was traditionally eaten by pilgrims during their journey to Makkah. It was believed that this man, Lat, was an ancestor of Uzza, one of the three goddesses worshipped by some pre-Islamic Arabs. This hadith serves as an example of how people in pre-Islamic Arabia would worship idols and false gods instead of worshipping Allah alone. It also serves as a reminder that we should always be mindful not to fall into idolatry or any other form of shirk which goes against Islamic teachings.
