Reciting the Quran for Spiritual Growth

SUMMARY: This hadith encourages people to recite the verse from the Quran, 47:22.

Narrated Muawiya bin Abi Al-Muzarrad: Allah's Messenger , said, "Recite if you wish: Would you then if you were given the authority". (47:22)
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمُزَرَّدِ، بِهَذَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏"‏ وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ ‏{‏فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ‏}‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith encourages us to recite verses from the Quran in order to gain spiritual growth and authority. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is asking us if we were given authority would we then recite? He is implying that by reciting verses of the Quran we can gain spiritual growth and authority. It is important for us to understand that reciting verses of the Quran will help us become closer to Allah and increase our faith in Him. We should strive to make it a part of our daily routine so that we can reap its benefits.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught us how important it is for us to be mindful when reciting verses from the Quran as this will help increase our understanding of its teachings and messages. We should take time out each day or week to read through some passages so that we can better comprehend what Allah has revealed in His book. By doing this regularly, not only will our faith be strengthened but also our connection with Allah will become stronger as well.
