Sahih al-Bukhari 4738 (Book 65, Hadith 260) #4521
The Argument of Adam and Moses

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the argument between Moses and Adam, in which Adam was able to prove his point by using an argument that Allah had ordained for him before he was created.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Moses argued with Adam and said to him (Adam), 'You are the one who got the people out of Paradise by your sin, and thus made them miserable". Adam replied, 'O Moses! You are the one whom Allah selected for His Message and for His direct talk. Yet you blame me for a thing which Allah had ordained for me before He created me?". Allah's Messenger further said, "So Adam overcame Moses by this Argument".

QUICK LESSONS:
Think carefully before speaking/arguing with someone else; Speak kindly and respectfully even if you disagree; Be aware of what Allah has ordained; Use your knowledge as a defense when needed; Create peace instead of conflict among people; Strive towards respectful speech at all times

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the conversation between two of the most important prophets in Islam, Moses and Adam. It is said that Moses argued with Adam, blaming him for getting people out of Paradise due to his sin. However, Adam replied by saying that it was something Allah had ordained for him before He created him. In this way, he was able to prove his point and overcome Moses in their argument. This teaches us that we should always be aware of what Allah has ordained for us before we are born so that we can use it as a defense when needed. We should also remember not to blame others for things they have no control over or cannot change.

This story also shows us how important it is to think carefully before speaking or arguing with someone else because our words can have a great impact on those around us. We must always strive to speak kindly and respectfully even if we disagree with someone else's opinion or beliefs because this will help create peace instead of conflict among people.
