Sahih al-Bukhari 4336 (Book 64, Hadith 365) #4138
Patience and Humility in the Face of Adversity

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us to be patient and humble even when we feel slighted or overlooked.

Narrated 'Abdullah: When it was the day of Hunain, Prophet favored some people over some others (in the distribution of the booty). He gave Al-Aqra' one-hundred camels and gave Uyaina the same, and also gave other people (of Quraish). A man said, "Allah's Pleasure was not the aim, in this distribution". I said, "I will inform the Prophet (about your statement)". The Prophet said, "May Allah bestow Mercy on Moses, for he was troubled more this but he remained patient".

QUICK LESSONS:
Remain humble and patient even when faced with adversity.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of patience and humility in the face of adversity. It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said that on the day of Hunain, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ favored some people over others in distributing booty. A man commented that Allah's pleasure was not the aim in this distribution, so Ibn Mas'ud offered to inform the Prophet ﷺ about it. The Prophet ﷺ responded with a reminder that Moses had been troubled more than this but remained patient. This teaches us to remain humble and patient even when we feel slighted or overlooked, as Allah will reward us for our patience if we remain steadfast despite our troubles.
