Sahih al-Bukhari 4257 (Book 64, Hadith 291) #4065
Showing Strength to Pagans of Mecca

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) showed strength to the pagans of Mecca by hastening in going around the Ka'ba and between Safa and Marwa.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet hastened in going around the Ka'ba and between the Safa and Marwa in order to show the pagans his strength. Ibn 'Abbas added, "When the Prophet arrived (at Mecca) in the year of peace (following that of Al-Hudaibiya treaty with the pagans of Mecca), he (ordered his companions) to do Ramal in order to show their strength to the pagans and the pagans were watching (the Muslims) from (the hill of) Quaiqan.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for justice even if it means showing your strength or power in order to do so; Be proud of your faith; Follow what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ordered his companions; Take quick steps while swinging your arms back and forth when doing Ramal; Go around the Ka'ba; Go between Safa & Marwa hills near Ka’aba .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was a great leader who wanted to show strength and power to the pagans of Mecca. He did this by ordering his companions to do Ramal, which is a type of walk where you take quick steps while swinging your arms back and forth. This was done while they were going around the Ka'ba, which is a holy building in Islam, as well as between Safa and Marwa, two hills located near it. The pagans watched from Quaiqan hill as they did this. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive for justice even if it means showing our strength or power in order to do so. It also shows us that we should be proud of our faith and not be afraid or ashamed when others are watching us practice it.
