The Greatness of Allah and Worship

SUMMARY: This hadith explains the greatness of Allah and how angels are constantly worshipping Him. It also encourages people to be mindful of their actions and to spend more time in prayer.

Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear; heaven has squeaked, and it has right to do so. By Him, in Whose Hand my soul is, there is not a space of four fingers in which there is not an angel who is prostrating his forehead before Allah, the Exalted. By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little, weep much, and you would not enjoy women in beds, but would go out to the open space beseeching Allah". At- Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hadith Hasan.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful of your actions & spend more time in prayer & worshiping God with sincerity & devotion

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is reminding us about the greatness of Allah. He tells us that there is not a space as small as four fingers in which there is not an angel prostrating before Him. This shows us how powerful and great our Lord is, that even angels are constantly worshipping Him! The Prophet ﷺ also encourages us to be mindful of our actions, so that we can become closer to God through prayer and worship. He reminds us that if we knew what he knows, we would laugh less and weep more - meaning that if we truly understood the power of God, it would make us humble ourselves before Him instead of being too proud or boastful about our own accomplishments. Finally, he advises against spending too much time enjoying worldly pleasures such as women in beds; instead he suggests going out into open spaces to beseech Allah for His mercy and blessings.
