Remembering the Prophet (ﷺ) in Supplications

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Umar bin Al-Khattab to remember him in his supplications.

'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I sought permission of the Prophet to perform 'Umrah. He granted me leave and said, "Dear brother! Do not forget us in your supplications". ('Umar added): This is something I would not exchange for the whole world. Another narration is: He said, "Include us, my dear brother, in your supplications". Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi, who categorized the Hadith as Hasan Sahih..
وعن عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ استأذنت النبي في العمرة، فأذن لي، وقال‏:‏ ‏"‏لا تنسنا يا أخي من دعائك‏"‏ فقال كلمة ما يسرني أن لي بها الدنيا‏.‏ وفي رواية قال‏:‏ ‏"‏أشركنا يا أخي في دعائك‏"‏‏.‏ حديث صحيح ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود، والترمذي وقال‏:‏ حديث حسن صحيح‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of remembering the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in our supplications. It was narrated by Umar bin Al-Khattab who sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ to perform 'Umrah and was granted leave. The Prophet ﷺ then asked him to remember him in his supplications and said that it was something he would not exchange for anything else. This hadith teaches us that we should always include the Prophet ﷺ in our prayers and supplications as a way of showing love and respect for him. We should also strive to make sure that we are constantly invoking Allah's blessings upon him as this is one of the best ways of expressing our love for Him.
