Compassion and Sympathy Among Believers

SUMMARY: Believers should be kind, compassionate and sympathetic to one another, just like a body that responds to the suffering of its limbs.

Nu'man bin Bashir (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show kindness and compassion towards fellow believers. Help each other out in times of need.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us the importance of being kind, compassionate and sympathetic towards one another as believers. It is similar to how a body responds when one of its limbs is in pain; it will feel the same pain as if it were its own. This hadith encourages us to show kindness and compassion towards our fellow believers in order for us all to benefit from each other's support. We should strive to help each other out in times of need, just like how a body would respond when one part is hurting.
