Promptness in Doing Good Deeds

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of being prompt in doing good deeds before one is overtaken by turbulence and how one should not sell their faith for worldly goods.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah said, "Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn disbeliever in the morning, and would sell his Faith for worldly goods". Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, emphasizes the importance of being prompt in doing good deeds before one is overtaken by turbulence. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warns us that a person can go from being a believer to a disbeliever or vice versa very quickly, and that it is possible to sell one's faith for worldly goods. He encourages us to act on our beliefs and do good deeds while we still have the chance, as we never know when our circumstances might change. We must remember that our faith should always come first and not be compromised for any material gain or benefit.
