QUICK LESSONS:
Treating animals with kindness and respect

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik states that the Prophet Muhammad forbade animals from being used as targets. This means that it is not permissible to tie an animal and use it for shooting practice or any other form of target practice. This prohibition is based on the Islamic principle of mercy and compassion towards all living creatures. Islam teaches us to treat animals with kindness and respect, and this hadith serves as a reminder of this important teaching. Furthermore, this hadith also serves to remind us that we should not take advantage of any creature in order to satisfy our own desires or needs; rather we should strive to protect them from harm whenever possible.
