EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about fasting during certain days of a lunar month. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructed his followers to observe Saum or fasting on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth day of each lunar month. These three days are known as Ayyam al Beed in Arabic which means ‘the white days’ because they are considered very sacred in Islam. It is believed that these three days bring blessings from Allah for those who observe them with sincerity and faithfulness. During these three days Muslims should abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset as a form of worshiping Allah Almighty. They should also spend their time in prayer, reciting Quran or doing any other good deeds that will please Allah Almighty such as helping others or giving charity etc. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to do good deeds so that we can gain rewards from Allah Almighty both in this world and hereafter.
