Fasting While in a State of Ritual Impurity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would wake up in a state of ritual impurity and take a bath before dawn and observe fasting.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah would wake up at Fajr time in a state of Janabah; so he would take bath before dawn and observe fasting. Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
وعن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت‏:‏ كان رسول الله يدركه الفجر وهو جنب من أهله ثم يغتسل ويصوم ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏
