Completing the Fast Despite Forgetfulness

SUMMARY: If someone forgets and eats or drinks while fasting, they should still complete their fast as Allah has already provided them with sustenance.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet said, "If any one of you forgetfully eats or drinks (while observing fasting) he should complete his Saum (fasting), for Allah has fed him and given him to drink". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏إذا نسي أحدكم فأكل أو شرب فليتم صومه فإنما أطعمه الله وسقاه‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏

This hadith is about the importance of completing one's fast even if they forgetfully eat or drink something during it. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to not give up when we make mistakes. It also reminds us that Allah is always providing for us and will never leave us in need.
