Reciting Surahs in Fajr Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recited two surahs in the two supererogatory Rak'ah of the Fajr prayer.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah recited in the two supererogatory Rak'ah of the Fajr prayer Surat Al-Kafirun (No. 109) in the first Rak'ah, and Surat Al-Ikhlas (No. 112) in the second Rak'ah. Muslim.
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله ، قرأ في ركعتي الفجر‏:‏ ‏{‏قل يا أيها الكافرون‏}‏ و‏{‏قل هو الله أحد‏}‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Huraira states that the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him recited two surahs during his supererogatory Rak'ah of the Fajr prayer. This is a reminder to us that we should also recite Quran during our prayers as it is an important part of worshiping Allah. It is also a reminder to us to take advantage of our time and use it for good deeds such as reading Quran and praying. We should strive to make sure that we are not wasting any time but instead using it for activities that will benefit us in this life and hereafter. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us about the importance of being consistent with our religious practices and making sure we are doing them regularly so they become part of our daily routine.
