The Rewards of Reciting the Qur'an

SUMMARY: Reciting the Qur'an with proficiency or with effort will be rewarded.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two rewards". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
وعن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ ‏ "‏الذي يقرأ القرآن وهو ماهر به مع السفرة الكرام البررة، والذي يقرأ القرآن ويتتعتع فيه وهو عليه شاق له أجران‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

This hadith from Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, speaks to the importance of reciting the Quran. This hadith encourages us to strive for excellence in our recitation of the Quran and reminds us that even if we are not able to reach perfection, we can still receive rewards for our efforts. It is a reminder that Allah is merciful and appreciates any effort made towards His cause.
