Marriage of Aisha to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) married Aisha when she was six years old and consummated the marriage when she was nine.

Narrated Hisham's father: Khadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married 'Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old.
حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ تُوُفِّيَتْ خَدِيجَةُ قَبْلَ مَخْرَجِ النَّبِيِّ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ بِثَلاَثِ سِنِينَ، فَلَبِثَ سَنَتَيْنِ أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَنَكَحَ عَائِشَةَ وَهْىَ بِنْتُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ، ثُمَّ بَنَى بِهَا وَهْىَ بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the marriage of Aisha to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to this hadith, Khadija died three years before the prophet departed for Medina and he stayed there for two years or so before marrying Aisha who was six at that time. The marriage was consummated when she turned nine. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible in Islam for a man to marry a young girl as long as they are both mature enough and consenting adults. It also teaches us that it is important to respect all marriages regardless of age difference between partners as long as they are both consenting adults and have not broken any laws or religious teachings in doing so.
