Sunan Ibn Majah 203 (Book) #37105
Rewarding Good Practices and Burdening Bad Practices

SUMMARY: Whoever introduces a good practice that is followed will be rewarded, and whoever introduces a bad practice that is followed will be burdened with sin.

It was narrated from Mundhir bin Jarir that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever introduces a good practice that is followed, he will receive its reward and a reward equivalent to that of those who follow it, without that detracting from their reward in their slightest. And whoever introduces a bad practice that is followed, he will receive its sin and a burden of sin equivalent to that of those who follow it, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Introduce only good practices into your life and community

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the importance of introducing good practices into society, as those who introduce them will receive rewards for their efforts. It also warns against introducing bad practices, as those who do so will be burdened with sin. The hadith emphasizes that the reward or burden of sin does not detract from the reward or burden of those who follow it in any way. This teaches us to strive to introduce only good practices into our lives and communities, as we are responsible for our actions and their consequences on others. We should also take care to ensure that we are not following any bad practices ourselves, as this could lead us astray from Allah's path.
