Sahih al-Bukhari 3846 (Book 63, Hadith 71) #3674
The Precedence of Day of Buath

SUMMARY: Allah caused the day of Buath to take place before Prophet Muhammad's mission as a prophet so that the people of Medina would accept Islam.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah caused the day of Buath to take place before Allah's Messenger was sent (as an Apostle) so that when Allah's Messenger reached Medina, those people had already divided (in different groups) and their chiefs had been killed or wounded. So Allah made that day precede Allah's Messenger so that they (ie the Ansar) might embrace Islam.

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in Allah and trust His plan for us even when we don't understand it right away.

EXPLANATIONS:
Before Prophet Muhammad was sent as a messenger, the people in Medina were divided into different groups and their leaders had been killed or wounded. To help them come together and accept Islam, Allah made the day of Buath precede Prophet Muhammad's mission. This event is known as Yawm al-Bu'ath which was a battle between two tribes in Medina before Prophet Muhammad's time. It is said that this event helped bring unity among the people and allowed them to accept Islam more easily when it was introduced by Prophet Muhammad. The lesson from this hadith is that Allah can make things happen for us even if we don't understand why they are happening at first. We should have faith in Him and trust His plan for us even when we don't understand it right away.
