Punishment for Adultery in Islam

SUMMARY: Stoning is a punishment for adultery in the Book of Allah, when there is clear proof or confession.

Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba ibn Masud that Abdullah ibn Abbas said, "I heard Umar ibn al- Khattab say, 'Stoning is in the Book of Allah for those who commit adultery, men or women when they are muhsan and when there is clear proof of pregnancy or a confession'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
According to this hadith narrated by Malik ibn Anas from Ibn Shihab from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba ibn Masud that Abdullah ibb Abbas said, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab stated that stoning is a punishment prescribed by Allah for those who commit adultery. This punishment applies to both men and women who are muhsan and when there is clear proof of pregnancy or a confession. Muhsan refers to someone who has been married and consummated the marriage with their spouse. The punishment of stoning can only be carried out if there is clear evidence or if the person confesses to committing adultery. This hadith serves as an important reminder of the severity of committing such sins in Islam and how it should be avoided at all costs as it carries serious consequences according to Islamic law.
