Warning Against Effeminate Men

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) warning against allowing effeminate men to enter freely into places where there are women.

Malik said from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that an effeminate man was with Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said to Abdullah ibn Abi Umayya while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was listening".Abdullah! If Allah grants you victory over Ta'if tomorrow, I will lead you to the daughter of Ghailan. She has four folds on her front and eight folds on her back". The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "This sort of man should not enter freely with you". (It was customary to allow men with no sexual inclination to enter freely where there were women).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's warning against allowing effeminate men to enter freely into places where there are women. The hadith was narrated by Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father who was with Umm Salama when an effeminate man said something inappropriate in front of Abdullah ibn Abi Umayya while the Messenger of Allah was listening. The Prophet then warned that this sort of man should not be allowed to enter freely with them as it was customary for only those with no sexual inclination to do so. This hadith teaches us that we must be careful and mindful of who we allow around us and our families especially when it comes to protecting our womenfolk from any potential harm or danger. We must also ensure that we maintain a respectful distance between ourselves and those who may have ill intentions towards us or our loved ones.
