Mourning Periods in Islam

SUMMARY: A woman should not mourn for more than three nights, except for four months and ten days for a husband.

Zaynab said, "I went to the house of Zaynab bint Jahsh, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when her brother had died. She called for perfume and put some on and said, 'By Allah! I have no need of perfume, but I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'It is not halal for a woman who trusts in Allah and the Last Day to abstain from adornment in mourning for someone who has died for more than three nights, except for four months and ten days for a husband'. "

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about mourning periods in Islam. According to this hadith, a woman who trusts in Allah and the Last Day should not abstain from adornment in mourning for someone who has died for more than three nights, except when it comes to her husband - then she can mourn up to four months and ten days. This teaches us that we should be patient during times of grief and trust that everything happens according to God's will. We must also remember that our faith is stronger than our sadness or sorrows; therefore we must continue with our lives while still honoring those who have passed away by remembering them fondly.
