Traveling Despite Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) allowed a woman to travel with her group despite her having started her period, as she had already done the tawaf of the House.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Hazm from his father from Amra bint Abd ar-Rahman that A'isha umm al- muminin said to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "Messenger of Allah, Safiyya bint Huyy has begun her period," and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Perhaps she will delay us. Has she done tawaf of the House with you?" They said, "Of course". He said, "So you are free to leave".

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform religious duties and rituals even when faced with difficulties such as menstruation or other physical ailments; Strive towards fulfilling one's obligations no matter what comes one's way; Do not be discouraged by any obstacles in one's way .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) permission for a woman named Safiyya bint Huyy to travel with her group despite having started her period. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked if she had done tawaf of the House, which is an Islamic ritual that involves walking around and touching or kissing certain parts of Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction. When he was told that she had already done it, he said they were free to leave. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to perform their religious duties and rituals even when faced with difficulties such as menstruation or other physical ailments. It also teaches us that we should not be discouraged by any obstacles in our way and strive towards fulfilling our obligations no matter what comes our way.
