Sending Family and Children Ahead

SUMMARY: Talha ibn Ubaydullah used to send his family and children from Muzdalifa to Mina ahead of him.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Talha ibn Ubaydullah used to send his family and children from Muzdalifa to Mina ahead of him.

QUICK LESSONS:
Send your family and children ahead while travelling for Hajj or any other long journeys. Be mindful of their safety during the journey. Take responsibility for them while on the road.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of sending family and children ahead when travelling for Hajj. Talha ibn Ubaydullah was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who used to send his family and children from Muzdalifa to Mina ahead of him during the pilgrimage. This shows that he was concerned for their safety as well as their comfort during the journey. He wanted them to reach their destination before him so they could rest in peace without having any worries or anxieties about travelling with a large group of people. It also teaches us that we should always be mindful of our families’ safety when travelling, especially if it is a long journey such as Hajj.
