Unknown Actions of Abdullah ibn Abbas

SUMMARY: Abdullah ibn Abbas was seen doing tawaf after asr, but what he did afterwards is unknown.

Yahya related to me from Malik that Abu'z Zubayr al-Makki said, "I saw Abdullah ibn Abbas doing tawaf after asr. Then he went into his room and I do not know what he did".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful when observing other people's actions; Perform acts of worship such as tawaf regularly with sincerity for Allah's sake alone; Emulate those who are pious and righteous in our own lives; Respect others' privacy without speculating about them without knowledge or evidence.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the actions of Abdullah ibn Abbas, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was seen doing tawaf, which is a ritual circumambulation around the Kaaba in Mecca, after asr prayer which is one of the five daily prayers Muslims perform. What he did afterwards remains unknown to us. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful and respectful when observing other people's actions and not pry into their private affairs or speculate about them without knowledge or evidence. We should also strive to emulate those who are pious and righteous like Abdullah ibn Abbas in our own lives by performing acts of worship such as tawaf regularly and with sincerity for Allah's sake alone.
