Praying Two Rakahs and Doing Talbiya

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray two rakahs in the mosque at Dhu'l-Hulayfa and then do talbiya when he got on his camel.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray two rakahs in the mosque at Dhu'l-Hulayfa, and then, when he had got on to his camel and it had stood up, he would begin doing talbiya.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the practice of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He would pray two rakahs in the mosque at Dhu'l-Hulayfa before getting on his camel. After getting on his camel, he would begin doing talbiya which is a form of prayer that involves repeating certain phrases such as "Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk" ("Here I am at Your service O Lord"). This hadith teaches us that we should always remember to pray even when we are busy with other activities. It also shows us how important it is to be mindful of our faith even when we are travelling or going about our daily lives.
