Praying for Love

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) showed his love for Usama bin Zaid and Al-Hasan by praying to Allah to love them.

Narrated Usama bin Zaid: That the Prophet used to take him and Al-Hasan, and used to say, "O Allah! I love them, so please love them," or said something similar.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْخُذُهُ وَالْحَسَنَ وَيَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحِبُّهُمَا فَأَحِبَّهُمَا ‏"‏‏.‏ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the immense love that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had for his companions, particularly Usama bin Zaid and Al-Hasan. He would take them with him and pray to Allah that He loves them as much as he does. This is a beautiful example of how we should show our love for those around us, not just through words but also through prayer. We should ask Allah to bless those we care about with His mercy and grace, so that they may be surrounded by His protection at all times. It is also a reminder of how important it is to express our feelings towards others in order to strengthen relationships between people.
