Strive towards closeness with God; Seek out opportunities where one can increase their knowledge about Islam; Actively strive towards pleasing God through good deeds such as charity or helping others in need; Longing for the meeting with Allah; Love of God .

This hadith speaks of the importance of longing for the meeting with Allah. It is narrated by Yahya from Malik from Abu'z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah said that Allah has said “If My slave longs to meet Me, I long to meet him and if he is averse to meeting Me I am averse to meeting him”. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive for closeness with our Creator and be eager in seeking His pleasure. We should never be apathetic or indifferent towards our relationship with Him as He will also reciprocate in kind. We must remember that it is only through His mercy and grace that we can ever hope for success in this life and the hereafter. Therefore it is important for us as Muslims not only seek out opportunities where we can increase our knowledge about Islam but also actively strive towards pleasing Him through good deeds such as charity or helping others in need.
