QUICK LESSONS:
Greet others with respect and kindness regardless of their social status or background. Show respect for elders and those who are older than us especially our parents.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of greeting others with respect. It was narrated by Ash-Shu'bi that whenever Ibn 'Umar greeted Ibn Jafar, he used to say "As-salamu-'Alaika" which translates to "Peace be on you". He also used a metaphor to refer to his parents as "son of Dhu-l-Janahain" which means "son of the two winged person". This metaphor is used in order to show respect and admiration for both his parents. The hadith teaches us that we should always greet others with respect and kindness regardless of their social status or background. We should also show respect for our elders and those who are older than us, especially our parents.
