This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam. Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote a letter to Abu Musa advising him on when he should pray during the day and night. He advised that dhuhr should be prayed when the sun had started to decline, asr when the sun was still pure white before any yellowness had entered it maghrib when the sun had set, and isha should be delayed until one does not sleep. Additionally he advised that subh should be prayed when all stars were visible in a haze in the sky and two long surahs from mufassal should be read during this prayer time. This hadith emphasizes on praying regularly at specific times of day as well as reading two long surahs during subh prayer time which shows how important it is for Muslims to stay connected with Allah through prayers regularly throughout their day.
