QUICK LESSONS:
Sacrifice healthy animals for qurbani in order to show gratitude towards Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of sacrificing animals that have lost more than half of their ear or horn. It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that The Prophet forbade any animal that had lost most of its ear or horn. He [the narrator] said he asked Sa'eed bin al-Musayyab and he said it was half or more. This means that if an animal has lost more than half of its ear or horn then it cannot be sacrificed as a qurbani ('????). This is because the purpose of qurbani is to give thanks to Allah for His blessings and so we should not sacrifice an animal which has been injured in this way as it would not be pleasing to Allah. We should only sacrifice healthy animals for qurbani in order to show our gratitude towards Him.
