Praying Witr and Two Rak'ahs of Fajr

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray Witr at the time of the adhan and two rak'ahs of Fajr at the time of iqamah.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah used to pray Witr at the time of the adhan and pray two rak'ahs of Fajr at the time of the iqamah.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يُوتِرُ عِنْدَ الْأَذَانِ وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْ الْفَجْرِ عِنْدَ الْإِقَامَةِ‏.‏

This hadith is about how Prophet Muhammad used to pray. He would perform witr prayer at the time of adhan and two rak’ahs for fajer prayer when iqamah was called. We should also strive to perform our prayers with full concentration so that we can reap its benefits in this world as well as in the hereafter. It also teaches us that we should follow the example set by Prophet Muhammad in all aspects of life so that we can attain success both here and hereafter.
