Musnad Ahmad 617 (Book 5, Hadith 54) #34280
Praying for Enemies in Times of Distraction

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was angry when the enemies of Islam distracted them from their prayer and he prayed for Allah to fill their graves and houses with fire. He then offered the 'Asr prayer between Maghrib and 'Isha prayers.

It was narrated that 'Ali (رضي الله عنه) said. The Messenger of Allah said on the day of al-Ahzab'.They distracted us from the middle prayer, 'Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire'. Then he offered it between the two evening prayers, Maghrib and 'Isha’.

QUICK LESSONS:
Remain obedient to God's commands no matter what our emotions tell us to do .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad reacted when his enemies distracted him from his prayer. He became very angry and prayed to Allah that they would be filled with fire in their graves and homes. Despite this anger, he still offered the Asr prayer between Maghrib and Isha prayers as a sign of obedience to Allah's commands. This teaches us that even in times of distress or anger we should remain obedient to God's commands no matter what our emotions tell us to do. We should also remember that it is not our place to take revenge on those who wrong us but rather leave it up to God who will judge them accordingly on Judgment Day.
