Praying After 'Asr Forbidden

SUMMARY: 'Umar got angry with Ali for praying two rak'ahs after 'Asr, as the Prophet Muhammad had forbidden it.

It was narrated from Rabee'ah bin Darraj, that 'Ali رضي الله عنه prayed two rakʼahs after 'Asr, and 'Umar got angry with him and said: Don't you know that the Messenger of Allah used to forbid this?

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow teachings of Prophet Muhammad

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that the Prophet Muhammad forbade praying two rak'ahs after 'Asr, which is the afternoon prayer. This was made clear to his followers by Umar when he got angry with Ali for doing so. The lesson here is that we should always follow the teachings of our beloved Prophet and not do anything against them, even if it seems small or insignificant. We should also be mindful of our actions and how they may affect others around us, as Umar's reaction shows us that even a seemingly small action can have a big impact on those around us.
