Compassion Towards The Poor

SUMMARY: Jafar bin Abu Talib was known for his kindness and compassion towards the poor, and the Prophet Muhammad gave him the title of Abul-Masakin (Father of the Poor).

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "Ja’far bin Abu Talib used to like the poor; he would sit with them and talk to them, and they would talk to him. And the Messenger of Allah gave him the Kunyah of Abul-Masakin (Father of the Poor)".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to us about how important it is to show compassion towards those who are less fortunate. Jafar bin Abu Talib was known for his kindness and generosity towards the poor, so much so that he would sit with them and talk to them. The Prophet Muhammad recognized this quality in him and gave him a special title - Abul-Masakin or Father of the Poor. This hadith teaches us that we should always be kind to those who are less fortunate than us, as it is an act of mercy which will be rewarded by Allah. We should also strive to help those in need whenever possible, whether through donations or simply by offering our time and attention. By doing this, we can make a difference in someone's life while also earning rewards from Allah.
