EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH was advising his companion Ibn 'Umar to live in this world like a stranger or someone who is just passing through. He was also asked to consider himself as one of the people of the graves, meaning that he should remember death and be prepared for it at all times. This hadith teaches us that we should not become too attached to worldly possessions and pleasures because they are temporary and will eventually come to an end. We should instead focus our attention on preparing for our afterlife by doing good deeds and remembering Allah SWT often. We must also remember that life on earth is fleeting, so we must make sure we use our time wisely by doing what pleases Allah SWT.
