Do good deeds to prepare for judgement day

This hadith speaks about the events that will take place before the Hour or Day of Judgement. It is narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Prophet Muhammad said that before this day comes, a mountain made out of gold will be uncovered from the river Euphrates. People will then fight over it, with nine out of every ten people being killed in this battle. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all to stay away from greed and materialism as these are not worth sacrificing our lives for. We should instead focus on doing good deeds so we can be rewarded in the afterlife instead.
