Prioritizing Worldly Gains Over the Hereafter

SUMMARY: The hadith warns against prioritizing worldly gains over the Hereafter, as it will lead to a worse status before Allah on the Day of Resurrection.

It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Among the worst people in status before Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be a person who loses his Hereafter for the sake of this world".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is a warning from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about prioritizing worldly gains over the Hereafter. It teaches us that if we focus too much on this world and neglect our spiritual development and relationship with Allah SWT, then we will be in a worse position before Him on the Day of Judgment. We should strive to balance our lives between this world and the next so that we can gain both rewards in this life and in the hereafter. We should remember that whatever we do now will have an effect on our standing before Allah SWT when He judges us for all of our deeds.
