Chasing Birds is Like Chasing Devils

SUMMARY: The Prophet saw a man chasing a bird and commented that it was like a devil chasing another devil.

It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet looked at a man who was chasing a bird and said: "A devil chasing a devil".

QUICK LESSONS:
Think before you act; Consider if your action is right according to Islamic teachings; Don't give into your desires without considering consequences; Be mindful of your actions; Have faith in Allah; Judge yourself accordingly on Day of Judgment .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad saw a man chasing after a bird and made the comment that it was like one devil chasing another. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to think before we act. We should not do something just because everyone else is doing it or because we are feeling impulsive in the moment. Instead, we should take time to consider if what we are doing is right or wrong according to Islamic teachings. We should also remember that Allah knows all of our actions and will judge us accordingly on the Day of Judgment for what we have done in this life.

The Prophet's comment about devils can also be interpreted as an analogy for how people can sometimes act when they are driven by their desires instead of their faith in Allah. When someone gives into their desires without considering the consequences or thinking about whether it is right or wrong according to Islamic teachings, they may end up doing something harmful or destructive - just like how two devils would fight each other if they were both trying to get what they wanted without any thought for anyone else's wellbeing.
