Treatment of Sickness by Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The Prophet sent a doctor to treat Ubayy bin Kab who was sick and the doctor cauterized him on his medical arm vein.

It was narrated that Jabir said: "Ubayy bin Ka’b fell sick, and the Prophet sent a doctor to him who cauterized him on his medical arm vein".
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ مَرِضَ أُبَىُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ مَرَضًا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ طَبِيبًا فَكَوَاهُ عَلَى أَكْحَلِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the treatment of sickness by the beloved prophet, Muhammad. It was narrated that Jabir said that Ubayy bin Kab fell sick and the prophet sent a doctor to him who cauterized him on his medical arm vein. Cauterization is a process in which heat or chemicals are used to burn away tissue in order to stop bleeding or infection. This hadith shows us how much care and attention the prophet gave towards those who were ill, as he sent a doctor to treat them with kindness and compassion.
