Treating Illnesses without Poison

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad forbade treating illnesses with poison.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah forbade treating illness with foul things (Khabith), meaning poison".*
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ عَنِ الدَّوَاءِ الْخَبِيثِ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي السُّمَّ
