The Humble and Generous Prophet

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) was humble and generous, not arrogant and stubborn.

'Abdullah bin Busr said: "I gave the Prophet a gift of a sheep, and the Messenger of Allah sat on his knees to eat. A Bedouin said: 'What is this sitting?’ He said: 'Allah has made me a humble and generous slave (of Allah) and has not made me arrogant and stubborn.’"
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عِرْقٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ، قَالَ أَهْدَيْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ـ ـ شَاةً فَجَثَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ يَأْكُلُ فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ مَا هَذِهِ الْجِلْسَةُ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَعَلَنِي عَبْدًا كَرِيمًا وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا عَنِيدًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was a humble servant of Allah, who did not let his position as a prophet make him arrogant or proud. Instead, he remained generous and kind to all those around him, even when receiving gifts from others. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to be humble in our dealings with others, no matter what our status or position may be in society. We should also strive to be generous with our time and resources so that we can help those who are less fortunate than us. In this way, we can emulate the example set by the beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself!
